ITC 1500 Library to contain 1,579 fonts

Typeface design company ITC has announced the ITC 1500 Library, which is comprised of 1,579 fonts. It includes both Postscript and TrueType formats for Mac and Windows platforms. The collection, due next month, contains 245 more fonts than ITC's previous library, and over 650 of the fonts aren't available from any other source, said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at ITC. Buyers can view the complete library online. The ITC 1500 Library includes a blend of old and new typefaces, including ITC Avant Garde Gothic, ITC Franklin Gothic, ITC Berkeley Old Style, ITC Officina, ITC Conduit, ITC Tabula, ITC Oldrichium, ITC Batak, ITC Tickle, ITC Cinderella, and ITC Jeepers. The library will be available as a single CD-ROM of unlocked typefaces. The product includes licensing for 20 users and is available at an introductory price of $4,999 (around £3,200) through January 2003.
