Google Maps Alphabet Creates Letters From Land (PHOTOS)
Google Maps, a tool that offers satellite imagery of landmarks, neighborhoods, cities, and farmland, can be used for much more than scoping out what your house looks like from space.
Rhett Dashwood has conceived one of the most creative uses of Google Maps yet. As he explains on his blog, Dashwood scoured Google Maps to "discover land formations or buildings resembling letter form" and, from his efforts, has created a stunning "Google Maps Typography"--an entire alphabet composed of "letters" he found via Google Maps.
All 26 letters, collected between October 2008 and April 2009, were found in Australia's southeastern province of Victoria.
See a selection of Google Maps "letters" below. To view the entire alphabet, visit RhettDashwood.com.
