The Escheresque glyphs in the festival logo are from Alfio Mazzei'sUtopia 14(2013). The reversed open 'Z' is derived from the Carl Otto Czeschka in 1946, who also designed the typeface Olympia (Genzsch & Heyse, 1929). Around 2008, Oleksandr Parkhomovskyy of Rekord was commissioned to expand the few letters of Czeschka's design ("DIE ZEIT") into a full set of caps. This font known as ZeitType is exclusive to Die Zeit.
