微软向正版Windows XP用户提供了支持ClearType技术的日文字体Meiryo Collection 5.00 版的常规体和粗体（字体文件：meiryo.ttc和meiryob.ttc）下载，同时提供的还有支持ClearType 技术的韩文字体Malgun Gothic 5.00 版的常规体和粗体（字体文件：malgun.ttf和malgunbd.ttf）下载。
微软说支持ClearType技术的日文字体Meiryo Collection和韩文字体Malgun Gothic可使 LCD 显示器上的文本显示效果更好。原生的东亚语言版Windows Vista已经自带有这类字体的当地语言所对应的字体文件。
