In the 1950s, the Austrian Communist Party (KPÖ) campaigned against comics and movies which allegedly were corrupting the youth. "Weg mit dem Schmutz und Schund" ("Away with dirt and rubbish") was used as a slogan throughout this campaign.
This poster printed by the KPÖ in 1952 is part of the current exhibitionBerthold Blockis still in use in the corporate design of the KPÖ — as headline font on posters.
