Łukasz Dabrowski's FF Pitu Patterns

Krakow-based designer Łukasz Dabrowski used the sweeping curves and elegant foxtail terminals of FF Pitu — by another Polish designer Łukasz Dziedzic — to create patterns which render the alphabetic origins of the typeface virtually invisible.

FF Pitu was recently selected for Typographica's Favorite Typefaces of 2008. Hrant Papazian's heaps praise in his review.
Łukasz's creations prove that letters aren't just for reading. Fans of the style might also appreciate the pinwheel patterns Hypnopaedia, Typoschnee, Whirligig, Ale Ornaments Rotato, and Fin-de-Siecle, or the delicate waves of the newly released Atlantik.
Hypnopaedia's 140 illustrations are built with the letters from a variety of Emigre typefaces.

Swedish duo Sylvia and Daniel Janssen trawled vintage specimen books for wave ornaments to create the ripples and swells of Atlantik.
