Dublin AIDS Alliance approached us in 2011 to design their visual identity. While their previous logo, a red charity ribbon, was outdated and overused, they wanted to retain it as a main feature of their new logo. We came to the conclusion that it is not always the redness of the ribbon itself that is a symbol of HIV and AIDS, but the shape the ribbon makes when pinned. This was the basis for the design of the new Dublin AIDS Alliance logo. Condom influences can also be seen in the final design, helping their logo to develop as a strong symbol for safe sex.
